Dr. TeGrotenhuis, a practicing dentist from Ann Arbor, Michigan, founded Island Dental in 2012 with the vision of combining high-quality care with a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. After many years in a fast-paced practice, he embraced the opportunity to slow down and enjoy a more personal approach to dentistry-while continuing the work he is passionate about.

Outside the office, Dr. TeGrotenhuis enjoys sailing, shrimping, traveling, and spending time with his wife, Lesa, their children, and grandchildren. His warm and personable nature makes patients feel at ease, and his dedication ensures they receive the attentive care they deserve.

Dr. Feathers grew up in Bellingham, WA and attended Eastern Washington University where she graduated with honors with her Bachelors of Science degree in dental Hygiene. She practiced as a dental hygienist for several years before she decided to expand her skills and education to realize the dream of becoming a dentist.  She attended dental school at the University of Washington where she earned several awards in prosthodontics, restorative dentistry, oral medicine and periodontics.

Dr. Feathers believes that the dental experience should be a collaborative effort between herself and the patient and strives to provide quality and gentle dental care with the patient’s needs at the forefront. She prides herself on making patients feel comfortable and well cared for and believes that it is her responsibility to expand and perfect her skills through continuing education and mentorship.

Dr. Feathers lives in Friday Harbor with her partner of nearly 8 years, Dante. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, traveling, foraging for mushrooms, boating in the beautiful Puget Sound, running clamming and spending time with friends, family and her furry friends: miniature dachshund “Hank and her two cats: “Liam & Lucy”.
